Elevare Education Foundation has welcomed guests to its second annual fundraising Golf Day at the historic Royal Blackheath Golf Club - bringing together businesses and supporters to raise vital funds for disadvantaged communities across the region.
The Foundation’s mission is to break down educational barriers, raise aspirations and create life-changing opportunities by funding initiatives such as scholarships, sensory learning spaces and supporting well-being.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural Golf Day, the event is now a valued fixture in the Foundation’s fundraising calendar. Teams were welcomed from a wide range of industries, with players enjoying 18 holes of competitive golf followed by a networking lunch.
The event was made possible thanks to the support of several businesses including headline sponsor APC Building Services, breakfast sponsor Ensigna, snack cart sponsor Neilcott and hole sponsor ECS.
Guests included LSEC’s Chair, David Eastgate, Chair of the Elevare Foundation, Helen Mcintosh, and many of the Group’s valued employer partners, who fielded golfing teams.
Speaking during the event, Dr Sam Parrett CBE, Group Principal and CEO of Elevare Civic Education Group, said:
“We believe that every child, young person and adult should have the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or personal circumstances. This principle sits at the heart of everything we do across our Group - transforming lives through the power of learning.
“Thanks to the generous support we have received through events like this, the Elevare Education Foundation is already making a real difference through initiatives including our new Scholarship Programme, which is helping talented students progress through their studies and into meaningful employment.
“Today, simply by being here and taking part, our supporters are helping us open doors and create opportunities for those who need them most.”
Funds raised through the Foundation are supporting a wide range of projects across the Group, including improvements to school library spaces, the provision of musical instruments and initiatives to expand opportunities for disadvantaged learners.
Helen McIntosh, Chair of the Elevare Education Foundation, added:
“What stands out most for me is the way this work connects people - businesses, individuals, staff and communities - around a shared belief that education should be a route to opportunity for everyone.
“Today has been another wonderful opportunity to enjoy a fantastic course and great company, while coming together with purpose and to help create meaningful change.”
The winning team was from ECS, with further prizes awarded for Closest to the Pin (Darren Ross) and Longest Drive (Toby Clarke). A raffle was also held, bringing the total money raised to just under £19,000.
The Elevare Education Foundation will continue its programme of fundraising and partnership activity throughout the year as it expands its support for learners and communities across London and the South East.
