About Us
LASER is a new education charity working with children, young people and adults, as well as their parents and carers, from across the communities of London and the South East. Many of the children and young people we work with live difficult and complex lives, facing issues such as poverty, special educational needs, mental health and wellbeing issues and even homelessness.
Our work enables young people most in need to access education and a wide range of innovative holistic support programmes. These programmes include mentoring, specialist SEND support and facilities, advice and guidance on housing, language support and debt or access to specialist youth mental health services and wellbeing programmes. We are here to support the often difficult, transitional moments in a young person’s life.

The difference we make is transformational. We see our young people benefit from the support we provide in a whole range of ways. This includes:
-
Better skills and educational outcomes
-
Increased confidence and self awareness
-
Stronger social skills
-
Enhanced life and planning skills
-
Better communication and teamwork skills
-
Enhanced educational grades and attainment
We also see far higher levels of engagement and attendance on our programmes, leading to truly transformational changes in their lives.
Over the last decade, our associated College and Trust have identified many of the pressing needs in our communities. They have done what they can to tackle these issues with the restricted statutory funding available.
Following the pandemic and recent cost of living crisis, the level of need has grown exponentially - to the extent that we felt compelled to act, and set up this charity.
Join us in making a transformational difference to the lives of young people in our communities.
